Hello Reader,, It's time for another edition of weekend inspiration. If you like this format, please let me know so I can continue it! One thing we noticed after moving to the DC area and then Pennsylvania, is so many people go to the beach every summer. If you're looking for the perfect pattern to celebrate your annual beach trip, look no further than Outer Banks by Emeral Falls Quilts. A few of you messaged that you weren't able to see the slow summer stitch along that Jennifer at Crimson Confection is hosting, so I'm sending a different link this time to see if that works. Check it out here. I love to use a cone of thread rather than individual spools. Since I mostly sew with pink or light gray, it's more cost effective to use a cone. I recently bought a second thread stand so I could use the thread on two machines at once, and I just bought a second Superior brand stand. I love it because you can also use a regular spool or bobbin on it. My mom gave me a bottle of Flatter for my birthday and my kids and I have been using it while making quilts, I've loved the scent it fills our dining room with while sewing, my favorite is Yuzu. I've been loving sewing with clear vinyl this summer. I've purchased it from a lot of different places, but my favorites are Zipper Valley and Sassafras Lane. I had my friend over to learn to quilt yesterday, we made a simple, two charm pack quilt top, and then I sent her home with a Fat Quarter Bundle and ordered her a copy of Tamara of Remi Vail Stutios Folk Fables Quilt Pattern. I'm excited to have another local friend who quilts! --- I hope you enjoy some of the things I've been enjoying this summer. If you enjoyed this email, please let me know. If you have soemthing you wish everyone knew about, hit reply and I'll try to share it next weekend! Happy Sewing, P.S. Want to sign up for the Back to School Summer Sew Along? Hello Reader, Over the summer, my kids made quilts and they got them back from the quilter a couple of weeks ago. Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! All my quilty finds are related to quilt binding this week. I have tried ALL the thimble options out there, and once I found the Roxette Thimble, there was no looking back. It...
Hello Reader, Quilty Weekend Inspiration is back! When I started this weekend newsletter I was enjoying weekend mornings on the back deck and it seemed the perfect time to send you a little note. But if that's not your thing, I discovered the most beautiful premade bias tape from Bessie Pearl Binding Co, read more...
Hello Reader, It's time for our weekend inspiration -- better late than never! Our inspiration photo for the week is my Simple Sampler quilt from the C&V Sewing Club - again! This is the 2024 version, but it took me too long to finally get it quilted and bound. We met friends at a park yesterday and tossed the quilts in to grab some photos...except we almost forgot, so we snapped this one really quick and I couldn't wait to share it! My friend Lynn is teaching a virtual course on creating a...
