Quilty Weekend Inspiration [Issue 5]

Hello Reader,

I'm coming to you from my backyard this morning, enjoying a little perfect weather and coffee.

I hope you're reading it somewhere equally lovely! Let's get into today's inspiration:

As quilters, we spend a lot of time cutting fabric, to sew it back together of course! So, I was super excited to have a special discount for Missouri Star Quilt Co. Everyday Cutting Tools. Grab 15% off the tools with this link. I've been using them all year and I love the rotary cutter and especially the smaller scissors! ✂️ Plus they're pretty cute too.

I switched to a wool mat about 8 years ago and have never looked back to a regular ironing board. Mine got burned in a couple iron left on it accidents 🫣 so I was excited when Novodon sent me a new one. I got the 5 foot long version, but my table is only 3 1/2 feet...so I cut it and had a spare, amazing! You can get one here, they do have a smaller version and the long one as well.

A few of my lovely pattern designer friends have released the Sweater Weather Sampler 2025 and I had to share it with you! This pretty quilt sampler is not just a pattern, but a whole quilting community experience. You can read more about it and sign up here.

My friend Keri just debuted her first fabric for Moda, Honeyed Horizon, and I got my early release of it yesterday. I can't wait to show you what I'm making. You can preview the collection here.

I never paint my nails...but I recently purchased this Active Glow nail polish from Manicurist and I love it. It's the perfect mild nail polish to elevate my nails but also not clash with my fabrics while I'm filming my next tutorial. 😉

My kids have been loving playing Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza the last few weeks, if you're looking for a quick, fun game that will get everyone laughing, this is it. Plus, in spite of the neon colored box 🙃 the cards are super adorable.

One chore I'm not loving this summer is cleaning our grill. 😩 Fortunately, my sweet husband usually does this chore, and I got him these Silicone Scraper Tools which make it much easier and less messy.

Heidemarie sent in her favorite thimble and I had to share. I haven't tried this one yet, but I have a quilt to finish binding so I'm thinking of trying one out too! You can find it here.

If you have a favorite item - sewing/quilting or not - send it over and I'd love to check it out and share! I always find the best stuff from you all! 💗

If you're new here and have missed an issue of weekend inspiartion, I've shared them all here so you can catch up!

I hope you have a great weekend! I'm off to make family breakfast and take a little walk before it gets swelteringly hot.

Happy Sewing,

Hello Reader, Over the summer, my kids made quilts and they got them back from the quilter a couple of weeks ago. Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! All my quilty finds are related to quilt binding this week. I have tried ALL the thimble options out there, and once I found the Roxette Thimble, there was no looking back. It...

Hello Reader, Quilty Weekend Inspiration is back! When I started this weekend newsletter I was enjoying weekend mornings on the back deck and it seemed the perfect time to send you a little note. Fast forward to school starting and things have been a bit wild, but I'm back! This week's inspiration photo doubles as a quilty find! I LOVE making bias tape - weird, I know. But if that's not your thing, I discovered the most beautiful premade bias tape from Bessie Pearl Binding Co, read more...

Hello Reader, It's time for our weekend inspiration -- better late than never! Our inspiration photo for the week is my Simple Sampler quilt from the C&V Sewing Club - again! This is the 2024 version, but it took me too long to finally get it quilted and bound. We met friends at a park yesterday and tossed the quilts in to grab some photos...except we almost forgot, so we snapped this one really quick and I couldn't wait to share it! My friend Lynn is teaching a virtual course on creating a...
