Hello Reader, Welcome to another edition of weekend inspiration! If you're new here, each week I share some of my favorite finds in the quilty world and beyond. I would love to share reader finds too, so hit reply if you have a great idea you'd like to pass on! Each week I'll be including a little picture of something I've sewn during the week, just to keep our newsletter really stitchy! See that cute little birdy I shared above? It's from the latest C&V Sewing Club guest designer! I used my CutterPillar Lightboard to both trace and then place the applique so easily! If you're not familiar with CutterPillar, I have the Glow Premium Lightboard, and I love it because it's cordless and can be used anywhere. If you check it out, make sure to use my code cloverandviolet for 15% off. I'm teaching one of my friends to sew, so I've been recommending all my favorite tools, my favorite rulers are the Creative Grids rulers, which already have the grippy spots on the back, if you've never tried them, grab a 6 1/2" x 12 1/2" and don't look back. We're getting ready to head out on a road trip to the Northeast - Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire - but I grew up in the west (hi Washington state peeps!), so I've been loving following along with Lynn of Emerald Falls Quilts Yellowstone Inspired quilt! Her latest release, Where the Buffalo Roam, is too cute and giving me all the wild west feels this week. If you were a Joann Fabrics customer, you may have been surprised to see an email from Michael's for 60% off one item...I honestly thought it was fake! But, turns out it's real and my girls and I scooped up these Ohuhu Honolulu markers for a steal! No link for this, but I don't know how it took me so long to discover the travel hack of checking out travel books from the library!! With the internet I haven't really been using paper books for things I could research, but when I wanted my kiddos to help plan I got some books and they're so helpful. I love the offline and less overwhelm of using them, and then I can always research specific things online later. Can you tell travel is on my mind? We also picked up these slim phone battery chargers for our last trip and they are so perfect! My kids have two old iPhones, so their batteries don't last as long as they could, but one battery kept both phones charged for the day and was easy to toss in any bag. I love that the cord is attached, so you only need to grab one thing! A while back Pat recommended OmniGrip Invisible Grip for my Wing Clipper Ruler. I purchased it on the spot but then time got away from me. I finally tried it today and it's a game changer! I'm excited to put it on a couple other rulers as well. 🤩 If you have a favorite item - sewing/quilting or not - send it over and I'd love to check it out and share! I always find the best stuff from you all! 💗 --- If you're new here and have missed an issue of weekend inspiration, I've shared them all here so you can catch up! My coffee is empty, so I guess that's my sign to go wake up my sleepy kiddos and start breakfast. I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you next week with more quilty goodness! Happy Sewing, P.S. Want to sign up for the Back to School Summer Sew Along? There are just a few days left, but you can still win prizes! Just click here and I'll send you all the info! |

Hello Reader, Over the summer, my kids made quilts and they got them back from the quilter a couple of weeks ago. Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! Now that it's turned cooler, we're getting them bound so they can use them on their beds in the winter! All my quilty finds are related to quilt binding this week. I have tried ALL the thimble options out there, and once I found the Roxette Thimble, there was no looking back. It...
Hello Reader, Quilty Weekend Inspiration is back! When I started this weekend newsletter I was enjoying weekend mornings on the back deck and it seemed the perfect time to send you a little note. Fast forward to school starting and things have been a bit wild, but I'm back! This week's inspiration photo doubles as a quilty find! I LOVE making bias tape - weird, I know. But if that's not your thing, I discovered the most beautiful premade bias tape from Bessie Pearl Binding Co, read more...
Hello Reader, It's time for our weekend inspiration -- better late than never! Our inspiration photo for the week is my Simple Sampler quilt from the C&V Sewing Club - again! This is the 2024 version, but it took me too long to finally get it quilted and bound. We met friends at a park yesterday and tossed the quilts in to grab some photos...except we almost forgot, so we snapped this one really quick and I couldn't wait to share it! My friend Lynn is teaching a virtual course on creating a...
